Wrist-worn device combining PPG and ECG can be reliably used for atrial fibrillation detection in an outpatient setting.
(Harri Saarinen et al.)
In this article we demonstrated the performance of our wrist-worn solution in detecting atrial fibrillation. The participating doctors were able to detect all subjects having episodes of atrial fibrillation based on the data of our solution.
Conclusion: “The system comprising of a wrist device and a data management service was validated to be suitable for use in patient monitoring and in the detection of AF in an ambulatory setting.“
The results of the clinical trial are in line with our goal to help solve the problem of undiagnosed atrial fibrillation.
We wish to thank our collaborators at Tampere Heart Hospital and Tampere University for their valuable efforts in our joint research projects!
